Aba Graham won 'Wellbeing Champion for her work setting up a Cultural Food Bank for people adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic from Stockport's ethnically diverse community.
These awards recognise those people who have gone above and beyond to improve the health and wellbeing of others.
The awards are organised by Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, with support from the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham. And were established in 2018.
The 2021 award categories include recognising our key workers and community champions, innovators, volunteers, leaders at any level and those who have helped improve the wellbeing of those around them during such a challenging year.
Aba Graham won 'Outstanding Services To Campaigning' for co-founding EaICO and Nexus (now Sector3) as well as establishing Stockport Race Equality Partnership. Aba also advises on race equality for the Greater Manchester Police independent advisory group. And has helped over 500 people and to date has deterred around 25 people from entering into crime.
